Mostly contractors, trades, and service based businesses — general contractors, concrete, excavation, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, spray foam, gutters, landscaping, lawn care, cleaning, car detailing, hauling, pressure washing, and similar companies. If you run a service business, there is a good chance the process fits.
Do you only work with construction companies?
No. Construction and trades are a specialty because of Blake's construction finance background, but The Bookkeeping Xpert works with many other service based businesses as well.
Can you clean up bookkeeping that is months or years behind?
Yes. Cleanup and catch-up work is one of the most common starting points. The process starts with a review of your current QuickBooks file, then you receive a clear scope and fixed estimate before any work begins.
Do you work in QuickBooks Online?
Yes — QuickBooks Online is the primary platform. If you are using something else, moving your bookkeeping into QuickBooks Online is part of what the setup service covers.
Can you help track job profitability?
Yes. Job costing and project tracking are core services: income and expenses are assigned to each job so you can see which jobs are making money and which are not.
Do you prepare tax returns?
No. The Bookkeeping Xpert is a bookkeeping service, not a CPA or tax firm. Your tax professional handles tax returns and tax advice — clean, organized books simply make their job faster and easier.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
Pricing depends on the size and condition of your books: number of bank and credit card accounts, monthly transaction volume, active projects, and the level of reporting you need. After a short consultation you receive a written estimate, so there are no surprises.
Can you work with my CPA?
Yes. Keeping books organized throughout the year, providing reports, and supporting year-end questions from your CPA is a normal part of the service.
Do you work with businesses outside of Kyle?
Yes. While The Bookkeeping Xpert is located in Kyle, Texas, all work is done fully remotely — so whether you're in Central Texas or anywhere else in the United States, the service works the same.
What information will you need from me?
Typically access to QuickBooks Online, bank and credit card statements for the periods being worked on, and answers to occasional questions about transactions. For cleanup projects, prior reports or CPA notes are helpful too.
